Sachin, Ojha, Kallis and Pollard named for IPL awards

Batting Maestro Sachin Tendulkar who led Mumbai Indians successfully to the finals of IPL3 has been named for the IPL awards for best batsman and the captain of this edition. Sachin Tendulkar conquered the bowlers and shown prolific form as usual. Master batsman, who turns 37 tomorrow, has scored 570 runs in 14 matches.

Jacques Kallis of Royal Challengers came close to Sachin by scoring 553 runs 15 matches. Other batsmen who were in the fray are Robin Uthappa (374 runs from 15 matches) of Royal Challengers, Suresh Raina of Chennai Super Kings (463 from 15 matches) and Murali Vijay (432 from 14 matches).

Pragyan Ojha, who plays for Deccan Chargers has been adjudged best bowler for the IPL awards. The left-armer has taken 21 wickets from 15 matches. He had a stiff competition from his fellow Deccan Chargers bowler Ryan Harris, Zaheer Khan (Mumbai Indians), R Ashwin (Chennai Super Kings and R Vinay Kumar (Royal Challengers Bangalore).

RCB’s consistent alrounder who scored 553 runs and bagged 11 wickets has been selected as most consistent performer for IPL awards while best debutant award goes to hard hitting big man Kieron Pollard for his alround performance. Delhi Daredevil’s AB de Villiers got the IPL award for best fielder.
