Murali Vijay and Robin Uthappa nominated for IPL awards

Murali Vijay could have entertained the Chennai crowd with his very stylish yet very aggressive century in the crucial game for Chennai Super Kings but he could not find a permanent place in Indian squad in either of the format. Likewise, Robin Uthappa who was batting with lot of power and hit most of number of sixes in IPL 3 but still he could not regain his place back in T20 world cup squad.

Both these promising cricketers have been nominated for best batsman and most dramatic performances in Sahara IPL awards to be held on April 23. They can feel more proud as they are nominated alongside RCB’s Jacques Kallis and Mumbai Indian’s master blaster Sachin Tendulkar. Sachin Tendulkar and Jacques Kallis were the leading run scorers in the cash rich tournament so far. Other youngster who has been nominated for the awards is Chennai Super Kings Suresh Raina for his prolific form.

R Ashwin from Chennai CSK and Pragyan Ojha from Deccan Chargers have been dominated for the best spinner awards. The jury panel is comprises of high value sports celebrities like Sunil Gavaskar, Brian Lara, Javagal Srinath, Simon Taufel, Harsha Bhogle and IPL commissioner Lalit Modi. Modi is the chairman of the panel.

Indian selection must have logically announced the team for T20 world cup to be held in West Indies after this tournament. That could have helped them to understand and analyze current form of the players. Anyway it is not too late as still they can pick few promising players who has been performing very well in the tournament.
