Zimbabwe stuns Australia in T20 world cup warm up
Zimbabwe has beaten supreme Australian by 1 run and shocked cricket world. Zimbabwe has earlier beaten Australia in T20 world cup in Cape Town in 2007. This side has given a morale booster to Proper Utseya’s Zimbabwean side at the start of the tournament.
Winning the toss, Utseya, Zimbabwean skipper elected to bat first. As expected Australian opening bowlers Dirk Nannes and Brett Lee rocked Zimbabwean batsmen and they lost quick wickets. Elton Chigumbura and S Erwin steadied the innings. Chigumbura in particular was at its explosive and played destructive innings against supremely best Australian team. He blasted 76 from 33 balls with 5 fours and 6 sixes. Erwin scored 39 from 30. Zimbabwe set a very good total of 174 runs to be chased down.
With the fire power, Australian team has, they were expected to chase it down. Utseya got Shane Watson and David Hussey and put a break for Australians. But aggressive Warner have not affected and kept on playing his natural game. He top scored by smashing 72 by 49 balls with 4 fours and 5 sixes. Michael Clarke supported him with 42 balls 49. Wickets fell in regular intervals and run rate were peeping up. Finally Australians were lost the match by 1 run surprisingly.
