Gautam Gambhir recaptured number one spot in ICC test rankings

Gautam Gambhir, the Indian opener has recaptured the top test spot in ICC rankings, which he lost to Sri Lankan captain Kumara Sangakkara in the month of July. Gambhir was in second spot when the Sri Lankan series started. He further reached number three spot after the first test in Ahmedabad. But he showed great form and in the 2nd test in Kanpur, he scored his eighth century of his career that has enabled India to thrash Sri Lanka by an inning and 144 runs. Eventually, he has reached the top test spot.

Legendary fast bowler of Pakistan Wasim Akram was highly impressed by Sachin Tendulkar’s 44th century in Compaq Cup finals against Sri Lanka in Premadasa Stadium. His innings helped Indian to clinch the cup and India is winning finals in Sri Lanka after 10 years in Sri Lanka.
